Mulé Teams with Freeport, Baldwin and Roosevelt Libraries for Women’s History Month

Womens History Month Drive (New)

WHAT – In observance of March as Women’s History Month, Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) is joining forces with the Baldwin, Freeport and Roosevelt Public Libraries to host a supply drive in support of Bethany House’s outstanding work to support women and children experiencing homelessness.

Now through Monday, March 31, donors are invited to contribute toilet paper, paper towels, 13 gallon garbage bags, cases of water bottles, rideshare gift cards and grocery store gift cards during normal business hours at the Freeport Memorial Library, 144 W. Merrick Road, Freeport; Baldwin Public Library, 2385 Grand Ave., Baldwin, N.Y. 11510; or the Roosevelt Public Library, 27 W. Fulton Ave., Roosevelt, N.Y. 11575.

Bethany House operates shelters in Roosevelt and Baldwin, where they focus on fulfilling a mission of providing safe haven for healing and personal growth for women and mothers with children facing homelessness. In an effort to guide clients to more stable lives, permanent housing and self-sufficiency, staff and volunteers deliver trauma-informed services, comprehensive health care and dedicated case management that focuses on educational and employment growth opportunities.

“Each and every day, the compassionate and diligent team at Bethany House does tremendously important work to help women and children in Nassau County break the cycle of homelessness and emerge from the greatest challenges of their lives,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to work with the Freeport, Baldwin and Roosevelt Libraries during Women’s History Month to support the efforts of this incredible agency.”
