(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) celebrated the achievements of Freeport’s young athletes during the 12th annual Freeport Red Ravens Awards Banquet for football and cheerleading on Sunday, March 9 at the Coral House. The mission of the Freeport Red Ravens Sports & Academic Club Inc. is to encourage youth to strive for excellence in athletics and academics. The organization serves youth in the communities of Freeport, Roosevelt, Uniondale, Baldwin, Oceanside, Long Beach, Merrick, Rockville Centre, Lynbrook, and Hempstead.
“Organized sports programs like the Red Ravens are essential vessels for the social, emotional and academic development of our youth, and the lessons of hard work, fair play and commitment they learn on the field last a lifetime,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “I am so glad that the Red Ravens are still going strong in our community, and I congratulate Scott Richardson and all of his young athletes and coaches for their accomplishments during a very successful season!”
