Mulé Applauds Approval of Design Services Contract for Nassau Road Improvements in Roosevelt

(ROOSEVELT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) applauded the Monday, March 10 approval of a contract that will advance roadway safety improvement project focused upon Nassau Road in Roosevelt.

The Legislature’s Rules committee voted unanimously to approve a $557,040 contract between Nassau County’s Department of Public Works (DPW) and LK McLean Associated Engineering & Surveying DPC for the firm to provide engineering and design services for infrastructure improvements to Nassau Road between the north side of the Southern State Parkway and Pleasant Avenue.

According to DPW documents, the designs will be for planned improvements that include but are not limited to streetscape beautification, road surfacing and traffic signal upgrades; new and repaired sidewalks; new curbs and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) curb ramps; bulb-outs and drainage structures, and more.

“Thousands of Roosevelt residents, business owners and motorists rely upon Nassau Road every day, and these planned upgrades will go a long way toward improving quality of life and enhancing safety for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians alike,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “I thank the Rules committee for approving this engineering and design contract and equipping the County to embark upon this important project.”
