
WHAT – Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) invites residents to attend an important upcoming public information community meeting on Thursday, May 8 regarding the New York State Department of Transportation’s forthcoming reconstruction of the Southern State Parkway’s eastbound Exit 13 at Central Avenue/Linden Boulevard in Elmont.
During the open house at Elmont Memorial High School, NYSDOT will present information regarding the proposed safety enhancements; those resources will also be available online, with instructions for viewing the virtual presentation being posted at https://projectdocs.dot.ny.gov.
Legislator Solages worked closely with former Nassau County Executive Laura Curran to secure $100,000 in capital plan bond authorization for the initial stages of the project, which was subsequently taken over by the NYSDOT after the State received grant funding for the project.
“Legislative District 3 contains some of Nassau County’s most heavily traveled roadways, and I am committed to ensuring that the safety of the pedestrians, motorists and bicyclists who use them,” Legislator Solages said. “I encourage everyone who has questions or concerns about this important project to join us at Elmont Memorial Library on May 8 to learn more about what is being proposed and share their feedback with state officials.”
