[ARCHIVED] Koslow Invites Residents to Attend Free Online Community Assessment Grievance Workshops

WHAT: Nassau County Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) is partnering with the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission (ARC) to host two free, virtual community assessment grievance workshops to inform residents about how to challenge their assessed value of their property.

During this virtual workshop, taxpayers who disagree with their assessment will learn how to navigate the free online grievance process and dispute their assessment. There will also be an opportunity to submit via chat any questions to the representative from ARC. Questions will be answered after the presentations and/or they will contact you directly.

“Under the current system of frozen, inaccurate assessment rolls, homeowners who do not file a grievance end up paying more than their fair share of taxes – and historically, working-class homeowners and homeowners in communities of color have borne the brunt of this cost,” Legislator Koslow said. “I encourage my constituents in the Fifth District to join one of these informative, user-friendly sessions in order to learn how to navigate the online grievance system and empower themselves.

For additional information, please contact Legislator Koslow’s office at 516-571-6205 or skoslow@nassaucountyny.gov.
