WHAT – Nassau County Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) is partnering with New York State Senator Kevin Thomas, Village of Freeport Mayor Robert Kennedy, the Freeport Police and Fire Departments, Gala Foods Supermarket, Vineyard Offshore, and an array of businesses, not-for-profit agencies, and community stakeholders to host National Night Out 2024 at Freeport’s Northeast Park (Bishop White Memorial Park) on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

For more than 40 years, thousands of communities have hosted National Night Out events on the first Tuesday in August as part of a crime prevention and awareness initiative that seeks to promote “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.” National Night Out enhances relationships between law enforcement and communities by bringing police and residents together in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

“Freeport’s National Night Out is such an important community tradition because it achieves the mission of strengthening bonds between police and our youth in a wonderful family-friendly setting that has something for everyone to enjoy,” Legislator Koslow said. “I am grateful for the tremendous response that our office has received in support of this event, and I encourage everyone to join us at Bishop White Memorial Park for what promises to be a truly memorable evening for the Freeport community!”
