[ARCHIVED] 10/23/2014 Legislator Curran to Host Scam Prevention Seminar

Legislator Laura Curran, in partnership with the Attorney General’s Consumer Frauds & Protection Bureau and Nassau County’s Office of Consumer Affairs, will be holding a seminar focused on recognizing and preventing scams and fraud.

(Baldwin, NY) – Legislator Laura Curran will be hosting a seminar on Wednesday, November 5th regarding consumer fraud and scam prevention for residents. The seminar will be held at the Baldwin Public Library, 2385 Grand Ave., Baldwin, NY 11510, at 7 PM. She will be joined by representatives from New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s Consumer Frauds and Protection Bureau and Nassau County’s Office of Consumer Affairs. Residents are invited to learn about some of the most common scams and raise their concerns. “Too many of our residents have been scammed by con artists, or have been the victims of identity theft,” said Legislator Laura Curran. “I encourage everyone to come learn from the experts on how we can arm ourselves against scam artists and identity thieves – before the crimes happen.”

All are welcome to attend. For more information contact Legislator Curran’s office at (516) 571-6205 or lcurran@nassaucountyny.gov.
