(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) toured Nassau: Empowerment and Support for Tomorrow (the NEST) at Nassau Community College on Friday, April 25.
The NEST, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, is focused on promoting health and wellness by maintaining a free-choice pantry that provides food, personal care items, and support services to students, employees, and families in need. Their philanthropic efforts are supported by the College community, Long Island Cares and Island Harvest, corporate donors, civic and religious organizations, and more.
“Nutrition and wellness are essential for educational success at any age, and The NEST does an outstanding job in meeting this need for any member of the Nassau Community College community that is facing hard times,” Legislator Koslow said. “Thank you to Sharon Masrour and her team of volunteers for welcoming me to the pantry and giving me a closer look at their amazing efforts.”
